SUPREME HEADQUARTERS ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

CUARTEL SUPREMO DE LA FUERZA EXPEDICIONARIA ALIADA

¡Soldados, Marineros y Aviadores de la Fuerza Aliada Expedicionaria!

Están a punto de embarcarse en la Gran Cruzada, por la cual se han esforzado todos estos meses. Los ojos del mundo están sobre ustedes. Las esperanzas y las plegarias de todos los que desean la libertad viajan con ustedes. En compañía de nuestros bravos Aliados y hermanos de armas en otros Frentes, llevarán la destrucción sobre la maquinaria de guerra Alemana, la eliminación de la tiranía Nazi sobre los pueblos oprimidos de Europa y la seguridad para todos nosotros en un mundo libre.

Su tarea no será fácil. Su enemigo está bien entrenado, bien equipado y curtido en la batalla. Luchará salvájemente.

¡Pero estamos en el año 1944! Ha pasado mucho desde los triunfos Nazis de 1940-41. Las Naciones Unidas han infligido grandes derrotas a los Alemanes, en batalla abierta, hombre a hombre. Nuestra ofensiva aerea ha reducido enormemente su fuerza en el aire y su capacidad de hacer la guerra en tierra. Nuestro frente doméstico nos ha proporcionado una abrumadora superioridad en armas y municiones de guerra, y ha puesto a nuestra disposición grandes reservas de soldados entrenados. ¡La marea se ha invertido! ¡Los hombres libres del mundo marchan unidos hacia la Victoria!

Tengo plena confianza en su coraje, devoción al deber y habilidad en batalla. ¡No aceptaremos menos que una Victoria Total!

¡Buena suerte! E imploremos todos nosotros la bendición de Dios Todopoderoso sobre esta noble y gran empresa.
